How do we define “believe?” The lessons to follow all presume a meaning of this word. Each implies “I believe in…” before the words they confess. The earliest Christians were baptized and martyred on the basis of their profession, “I believe.” Our modern culture, as have each past era, supplies many and varied definitions for “believe” or “faith”. In the language of the New Testament, these words have the same root and this lesson will encourage you to understand “having faith” and “believing” as surrendering to God or giving Him your allegiance.
